The main theme of ELENAREVA brand collection SS18 is mystical femininity. «A mysterious and beautiful film directed by Peter Weir “Picnic at Hanging Rock” has inspired us to rethink the fashion of the early twentieth century; we tried to transfer the characteristic elements of the clothes of that time into the modern context,” – the designer comments.

Flying silk and chiffon dreses of medium length, pure colors, white and peach cream shades, corsets, flounces and silk contrasting ribbons are the reference to the aesthetics of Weir imagery. The image of the Australian private college schoolgirl is difficult to imagine without a canotier hat, but the team decided to go for an experiment and re-think it. As a result, instead of straw hats, images of models are complemented by panamas made of dense leather in saturated colors – ink, black and smoky gray.

It is impossible to talk about the “Picnic at Hanging Rock” without mentioning the works of Sandro Botticelli.The brand team invited Ukrainian designer Nastya Zherebetskaya to create the prints.The artist came up with two floral prints based on the symbols of the painting “The Birth of Venus” – roses, ginkgo, sorrel and cornflower.
